disable a CMA

  1. login to CMA with write privileges via SmartDashboard
  2. mdsenv <cma|cma_ip>
  3. chatter +i $FWDIR/tmp/manage.lock
this make the manage.lock file undeletable. Attempts to "disconnect" the user or even restarting the CMA will not have an effect.

re-enable

  1. mdsenv <cma|cma_ip>
  2. chatter -i $FWDIR/tmp/manage.lock
  3. rm $FWDIR/tmp/manage.lock
